TOMEX Brakes is one of the largest manufacturers of brake components in Europe. Each year, millions of brake pads for cars and vans, as well as trucks and buses, leave the company’s production halls. Modern machinery, innovative technology and European standards allow us to offer a top-quality product.

The advanced technology allows for high braking performance at both low and high temperatures and eliminates to a minimum any vibration and noise occurring when the pad is pressed against the disc. It also minimises the formation of a gas cushion between the pad and disc during bed-in, or so-called ‘initial fading’, ensuring high braking performance immediately after fitting.

Scorching

One of the production processes for TOMEX brake pads is scorching – the heat treatment of the top layer of friction material. This is done using infrared lamps that act directly on the friction material without interfering with the backing plate of the pad. The process temperature varies between 600-800 °C and the length of the process depends, among other things, on the friction material mixture used and the surface of the pad.

Friction material – developed by the laboratory, combines the highest requirements for safety, comfort, life and braking performance.
  • null
Interlayer – a layer that reinforces the connection between the backing plate and the friction material, which simultaneously reduces vibrations and oscillations of the braking system.
  • null
Adhesive – the layer that connects the backing tile to the interlayer.

Brake pad plate – a precisely made plate that allows easy installation of the pad and its free operation in the calliper.
  • null
SHIM – anti-vibration pad – an overlay that reduces vibrations and oscillations in the brake system and prevents squealing during the entire service life of the brake pad.

TOMEX was the first company in this part of Europe to use advanced scorching technology.

Brake discs – manufactured by TOMEX

After hundreds of hours of testing on inertial machines and test vehicles, the TOMEX brand has added another product to its range – brake discs. They meet the stringent requirements of the Thermal fatigue and High Load test procedure, while being an excellent alternative to original equipment, at a far more favourable price. Confirmation of this fact are granted approvals in accordance with the stringent requirements of the ECE R-90 regulation.

As a supplier of brake discs, TOMEX is committed to providing you with the highest quality safe products. That is why our priority is to ensure high precision and accuracy of the production process of all the elements we supply. The computer-supervised casting process for cast iron with optimum carbon content and precise geometry processing means that the brake discs produced able to effectively compete with the best brands on the market. The composition of the material has been selected in such a way as to minimise temperature cracking and eliminate typical defects such as transverse cracks, surface cracks and linear deformations. This is due to the balanced temperature distribution during braking and the disc ventilation system that does not differ from the first-assembly products.
A manufacturer of brake pads, as well as a supplier of brake discs dedicated to them. Thanks to the extension of the TOMEX offer with modern brake discs, our customers have gained the opportunity to equip their vehicles with complete braking system solutions, thanks to which the risk of incompatibility in terms of excessive wear or vibroacoustic phenomena was reduced to a minimum, which we successfully confirmed during the tests in accordance with the AK master procedure. We hope that the TOMEX brand will soon become a leading supplier of brake discs in the minds of consumers, as is the case with other brand solutions.
